Our Founder

1934 – 2020

Aram Demirci, our founder, was born in Sivas, Kangal in 1934. He was unable to attend school due to financial problems. He started his business life as a shoe mender early in his childhood. He worked as a miller in his youth. He felt grateful to his master who taught him how to read and write throughout his life.

In 1957, he migrated to Istanbul where he started working in metal industry. He established AR-DA BORU KOMANDİT company in Şişli, Bomonti in 1966. He purchased scrap pipes disassembled from ships in order to reprocess them in his workshop. He visited various countries and plants in Europe albeit with limited financial means. He designed the future of his company with inspiration from new technologies.

He worked tirelessly day and night as a result of which he established AR- BEK BAKIR SANAYİİ A.Ş., the first private incorporation to manufacture copper and brass pipes in Turkey, in Florya-Beşyol in 1969. The company was renamed as AR-DA BORU SANAYİİ A.Ş. in 1979 and moved to its headquarter in Topçular-Eyüp in 1989.

Honesty was his guiding principle in trade and he educated his children and grandchildren who manage the business currently based on this principle. “You will work hard, you will get tired to the bones but you will never say ‘I’m tired’,” he would say.
We commemorate him with respect and yearning.
